What has Aaron Rodgers said about a proposed move to the New York Jets?

The Packers’ iconic QB has finally given insight as to what his plans for the future are. The question now is, can he get everything that he wants from the New York Jets?

For the first time in months, the Packers star signal caller has given some idea of where his head is at and what he intends to do. The only issue at this point is whether the teams involved can facilitate his dreams and hopes.

Aaron Rodgers wants to join New York Jets but there are some problems

At long last, we have some clarity on the future of Aaron Rodgers. During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” Rodgers disclosed that he is now waiting on his current team, the Green Bay Packers, and the team he’d like to join, the New York Jets, to reach an agreement which will see the four-time league MVP make the move to the “Big Apple.” Earlier this week, it was reported that Rodgers gave the Jets a wide receiver “wish list” as a condition for him to join the New York based franchise, but he was quick to push back on the idea.

“That’s so ridiculous...Ask Schefter what I texted him when he texted me and somehow got my number. I didn’t respond to Dianna Russini, I think her name is, but I’d tell her what I told him: ‘Lose my number, nice try. I’ll speak for myself.’” To be clear, Rodgers’ list included several of his Green Bay teammates, as well as former Rams wideout, Odell Beckham Jr.

Retirement & Rejection? Aaron Rodgers had to think

It’s interesting to note that Rodgers was open about the idea that he was on the verge of retirement. “It was 90-10,” he said when discussing how close he was to calling it quits. After stating that the Packers wanted to move on from their relationship, Rodgers made it clear that as far as he was concerned, the team’s position was not clear from the start. On the other hand, following his darkness retreat, it does appear that Rodgers has returned with a different perspective. “Something changed when I was in the darkness...There was some shopping going on. ...There is some information out there that’s true. There is some that isn’t true and some that has parts of truth.”

What do the Packers want for Aaron Rodgers?

Reports indicated on Wednesday that the Packers wanted multiple first-round picks for their Star’s signature. Further to that, there were also reports that indicated, “Green Bay isn’t looking for multiple first-round picks like other QBs (Russell Wislon, Mattew Stafford) have commanded in recent years. Talks ongoing.” Ultimately, what we can assume is that as much as Rodgers has made his stance clear, there is still quite a bit to be hammered out. As always, watch this space.
