What is Tyreek Hill’s 40 time? And his 100m time?
Noah Lyles captured headlines in Paris with his 100 meter gold medal and his 200 meter bronze, and it seems like everyone wants their shot at the fastest man in the world.
When you are the fastest man alive everyone wants to take a shot at you. Who the fastest man in the world is, however is up for debate according to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Lyles backs up Fastest Man claim
Following his Olympic gold medal in the 100m Noah Lyles backed up his claim that he is indeed the fastest man in the world. It’s not just the outspoken track star who nicknamed himself that, the world champions are called that after finishing first in the 100m at the World Championships, and he proved so again on the sport’s biggest stage in Paris.
“The titles ‘fastest man’ and ‘fastest woman’ are awarded annually to the winners of the 100m at the world championships. I won the men’s 100m at the 2023 world championships, and Sha’Carri [Richardson] won the women’s. Said Lyles in a post following a video in which he called himself the fastest man.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver, and former high school track star Tyreek Hill must have been watching the Olympics, because now he has taken aim at the gold medal winner. “I would beat Noah Lyles. I wouldn’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.”
Lyles: Tyreek chasing clout
Hill has often been referred to as the fastest player in the NFL, and if you take his stats from last year, they would certainly help prove that. Hill was on track to post 2,000 yards receiving, but ended the regular season with a still astonishing mark of 1,799 yards.
Lyles, never one to shy away from a microphone retorted, “Tyreek is just chasing clout,” Lyles said. “Anytime someone fast comes up, he would try to race them. If he really wanted to race people, he would’ve showed up like DK Metcalf. "
While the stats may be fantastic, and deservedly put him in the best WR in the league conversation, it doesn’t mean he is faster than an gold medalist at the Olympics. Hill never went to the NFL Combine because he wasn’t invited, so the only 40 yard dash on record was his 4.29 at West Alabama’s Pro Day the year he got drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. That would put him in a tie for 15th fastest time in combine history, 0.08 seconds behind Chiefs Rookie WR Xavier Worthy who broke the 40-yard dash record this year.
Hill apparently was thinking a little shorter of a track than Lyles is used to running. “Sign that contract and lock in that 50 yard race…” claimed Hill on social media. The man nicknamed “Cheetah” ran the 60 meter in the Masters division last year, and ran a 6.70, but the world record is 6.34 held by Christian Coleman.
