Khyree Jackson, who was killed in a car crash on Friday evening, was a solid prospect from Oregon, who made first-team All-Pac 12 Conference in 2023. Standing 6 foot 4 inches and weighing 194 lbs he was an imposing cornerback who the Minnesota Vikings selected as the 108th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jackson was a 6.15 Prospect Grade, putting him in the ‘good backup with potential to become a starter’ category. In the combine he did the 40 yard dash in 4.5 seconds and the 10-yard split in 1.5. His vertical jump was 36.5″ and his brand jump 11′1″.

In his final season at Orgon, in addition to making the All-Pac-12 Conference, he started 12 games making 34 tackles with 2 sacks. He made three interceptions and seven pass break ups. NFL analyst Lance Zierlein noted that he had “rare size and strength” but that starting only 14 games at college showed that his technique was inconsistent but that with good coaching he was expected to improve with the prospects of eventually becoming a starter.

Sadly we will never see what he could have become as a pro player. RIP Khyree Jackson.
