What we know about 1587 Prime steakhouse: Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ restaurant opening soon
The Chiefs favorites are gearing up to open a new Kansas City restaurant that will offer “a modern twist to the classic American steakhouse”.

Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are preparing to launch a new steakhouse in downtown Kansas City, with the legendary NFL duo promising a “one-of-a-kind dining experience”.
When will Kelce and Mahomes’ restaurant open?
Named 1587 Prime - “15” and “87” are Mahomes and Kelce’s Chiefs jersey numbers, respectively - the restaurant is reportedly due to open its doors late this summer, ahead of the new NFL season. The Chiefs kick off their 2025 campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5.
“[1587 Prime is] just another thing that we want to bring to Kansas City, to be able to show our appreciation for the city, knowing how much they love their food and how much they love their football,” Kelce told People magazine in April.
“Made sense to bring something special to our own community”
Kelce and Mahomes first announced their collaboration on 1587 Prime in March 2024, revealing that they have teamed up on the project with the hospitality group Noble 33.
“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City,” Mahomes told a press release. Kelce added: “We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience, and what better place to start than our very own, Kansas City.”
Located across two floors in the upmarket Loews Kansas City Hotel, the 10,000-square-foot restaurant will seek to bring “a modern twist to the classic American steakhouse”, says 1587 Prime’s website.
In their original press release, Mahomes and Kelce also revealed: “1587 will boast multiple private dining rooms, a world-class chef’s kitchen, a jaw-dropping meat display, all with hyper-subtle nods to Patrick and Travis’ on-field accomplishments.
“The restaurant’s extensive wine collection, which will be one of the largest in the state, has been meticulously curated to complement the menu’s diverse offerings.”
As was revealed in a report by KMBC9’s Brian Johnson in June, the steakhouse will have a tunnel-style entrance that recreates the moment players step out onto the field at a football stadium.
When diners set foot inside the restaurant, Johnson also shared, they will immediately be greeted by the sight of the cuts of meat they’ll be able to choose from, hanging in refrigerated glass cabinets.
“You think greatness, you think football”
“When you hear ’15’ and ’87’, you think football,” Noble 33’s director of hospitality, Sacha Tanha, told KMBC9. “You think greatness, you think football […]. I want this to be somewhere where people will come and feel at home and truly have great dining experiences.”
Key to Kansas City championships
Drafted by the Chiefs in 2013 and 2017, respectively, Kelce and Mahomes have been integral to the team’s period of immense success in recent years.
With the tight end and the quarterback in Kansas City’s ranks, the Missouri franchise has reached five of the last six Super Bowls, winning three of them.
