The Chief’s victory celebration turned to tragedy on Wednesday when shots were fired near Union Station in Kansas City. The historic 110-year-old building was the at the end of the parade route for the back-to-back Super Bowl champions and where a stage had been set up for the team to address the gathered reveling masses.
Roughly 10 to 15 minutes after players exited the stage, multiple gunshots were heard, according to News Press Now sports director Jacob Meikel, who was on the scene and posted video of the pandemonium that unfolded.

Authorities report that the gunfire broke out at the conclusion of the Kansas City Chiefs’ celebration event. There has been one fatality so far and it is reported that three people were critically injured and five others seriously.
However, none of the Kansas City Chiefs players, coaches or team staff are among those and all are accounted for informed Mayor Quinton Lucas.
Who is responsible for the Kansas City shootings?
Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves reported that two suspects have been taken into custody at a press conference to inform the public. There are reports that attendees at the Super Bowl victory celebration helped subdue at least one of the individuals believed to be responsible for the tragedy in Kansas City.
Authorities have not released the names of the two people detained. Nor have they said what was the reason behind the incident, saying that it will take time to determine what led to shooting. For the moment though it does not appear to be terrorist related but rather an altercation that turned violent.
