Which NFL teams have a bye week in Week 5?
We’re already heading into Week 5 of the NFL season, which means it’s the first week that some teams will have their bye.

The NFL season is in full swing - so much so that it’s already time for some teams to take a break. The first four weeks of the season flew by, and the first of the NFL bye weeks begins in Week 5 with four teams resting this week.
NFL teams on bye week: Week 5
This is especially important information to know if you’re in a fantasy league this year, as you’ll want to make sure to sub in for any players you have on these teams who have a bye in Week5:
- Atlanta Falcons
- Chicago Bears
- Green Bay Packers
- Pittsburgh Steelers
Here’s how each of these teams looks as they head into their Week 5 byes.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are currently 2–2 and sitting in second place in the NFC South. They broke out in Week 4 with a 34–27 win over the Commanders behind solid performances from Michael Penix Jr. and Bijan Robinson. Early season inconsistencies have been a theme - both on offense and coaching - but there’s room for optimism if they can stabilize.
Chicago Bears
The Bears are at 2–2 through four games. After an 0–2 start, they’ve won back-to-back games against the Cowboys (31–14) and Raiders (25–24). Quarterback Caleb Williams is showing flashes, but the offense and defense both have work to do to rise above mediocrity. They’ll need more consistency and fewer mistakes to make a run in their division.
Here’s my top 3 things for the Bears to fix over the bye week:

Green Bay Packers
The Packers are 2–1–1, putting them near the top of the NFC North. They started strong with wins over Detroit and Washington. Their Week 3 loss to Cleveland came via a blocked field goal on the final drive. In Week 4, they locked in a dramatic 40–40 tie with Dallas, which featured multiple lead changes and a clutch field goal to force overtime. The Packers are managing injuries, especially on the offensive line, but the offense has shown potential under Jordan Love.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are 3–1 and currently leading the AFC North. They’ve gotten off to a strong start in 2025, improving on their back-to-back 10–7 seasons. The team is building momentum offensively and defensively, with a balanced attack and stable play. With early success, they’re in position to make a push in their division if they stay consistent.
