SUPER BOWL LVII

Who does the official Madden simulation have winning Super Bowl LVII

Super Bowl LVII kicks off this Sunday in Glendale, Arizona but the official Madden simulation has already crowned the winner of the Lombardi Trophy.

Two weeks is a long time to wait for the Super Bowl. In that time us sports writers write. Experts act like experts. And simulators simulate. The most famous pre-Super Bowl Sunday simulation, EA Sports’ Madden, and the official prediction came out today. Kansas City Chiefs fans might want to close out this page.

Hurts named simulation MVP

The Philadelphia Eagles looked like the most complete, deepest, most dangerous team in the league all season. It appears Madden’s official simulation agrees since it had Philly hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in a 31-17 win after the video game preview.

Jalen Hurts was crowned Super Bowl MVP in the simulation after passing for 282 yards and two touchdowns on 26/33 passing, while adding another 88 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Madden had both teams tied at 10-10 at halftime, but the Eagles turned on the offense out of the break and Hurts passed for two TDs in the third quarter. The first one was a 26 yard TD pass to A.J. Brown and then a 63 yard bomb to DeVonte Smith to take command going into the final 15 minutes.

Simulations on a cold streak

Brown ended the game as the leading receiver with 114 yards and a TD, and Miles Sanders was the top rusher after Hurts with 78 yards and Philly’s last touchdown on 15 carries.

The Philly defense kept the probable league MVP, Patrick Mahomes, in check allowing just one passing touchdown in the opening quarter. After Kelces early TD catch, the Chiefs would be held out of the end zone until a consolation TD late in the game. Mahomes ended the game 29/39 with 249 yards and one interception.

This shouldn’t be too heartbreaking for Chiefs fans. In fact, if they look at recent history in these official Madden simulations they might be relieved. One of the most popular EA Sports franchises has predicted the Super Bowl winner correctly just once in the last five years. It came in 2019 when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.Simulations on a cold streak
