Just before the start of the 2024 NFL draft, some teams have started to make moves. The New York Jets have traded one of their quarterbacks, Zach Wilson, to the Denver Broncos, and the trade includes some draft picks.

The Broncos have acquired Zach Wilson and a seventh-round pick (No. 256) from another team. In exchange, they have given up their sixth-round pick (No. 207). As part of the deal, both teams will split the $5.5 million guaranteed bonus that Wilson was supposed to receive.

The quarterback, who has been playing for the New York Jets for the past three years, has decided to leave. During his tenure, he had both good and bad times in the NFL. Due to this, the franchise decided to replace him with Aaron Rodgers. However, the team suffered a setback during the season as Rodgers got injured, leading to a losing place and being out of the playoffs.

Zach Wilson, who played for the team, ended his tenure with a record of 12-21. He had a passing efficiency of 57%, 23 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. After his departure, he will compete for a position with Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci before Russell Wilson’s departure.

Who are Wilson’s opponents on the roster?

Jarrett Stidham

Stidham played college football at Auburn University following a stint with Baylor University. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft, where he spent three seasons. He later played for the Las Vegas Raiders and joined the Broncos in 2023. During his four-year NFL career, Jarrett Stidham played in 16 games, has a 1-3 record as a starting quarterback, 1422 yards total, and 8 touchdowns with 8 interceptions.

Ben DiNucci

Ben DiNucci played college football at James Madison and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After a brief spell at the XFL with the Seattle Sea Dragons, he was acquired by the Denver Broncos in 2023. Interestingly, he was the only quarterback in the draft pool who had NFL regular-season experience. He started 10 games and guided the team to a playoff berth, finishing with a 7–3 record. DiNucci led the league in passing yards (2,671), attempts (374), and completions (272) while ranking second in passing touchdowns (20) and interceptions (13). However, he was released from his contract on May 15, 2023, and he signed with the Broncos the following day. Currently, he is on a reserve/future contract starting in January 2024.

Standing at 6′2″ and weighing 215 lbs, DiNucci faced his share of challenges on the field. He completed 53.5% of his passes for 219 yards, although he failed to record a touchdown. Despite this, his passer rating was a respectable 67.9, playing only for the Dallas Cowboys.
