New England Patriots head coach Vrabel and Russini, both married, were reportedly seen holding hands, hugging and spending time together poolside, which quickly sparked cheating speculation online.

Both Russini and Vrabel have strongly denied any inappropriate relationship. Vrabel called the suggestion “laughable” and Russini said the images were misleading and taken out of context, noting they were part of a larger group gathering. Her employer, The Athletic, also backed her publicly.

At the same time, a 2021 clip of Russini discussing her husband has resurfaced online, drawing even more attention. In the video, she joked: “I’m married to someone average… I don’t post a lot about him.”

Separately, a podcast appearance from earlier in 2026 in which Russini joked about her marriage “falling apart” has also resurfaced, further fueling online speculation, even though the comments were made in a humorous context.

Despite the sudden spotlight, Russini and Goldschmidt’s relationship has largely remained low-key compared to many in sports media.
