Who is on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad? Tracking the moves - Cowboys sign Dalvin Cook
The Cowboys have met the NFL deadline to get their rosters cut to 53 players, but now they have the chance to put 16 on the practice squad.
The Cowboys made several moves to get the roster down to 53 on Tuesday, most of which weren’t too surprising. They traded third-year tight end Peyton Hendershot to the Chiefs and kept four others on the roster, one of whom was Brevyn Spann-Ford. They chose to keep defensive end Tyrus Wheat over Carl Lawson and Andrew Booth at cornerback over Eric Scott. Some other notable cuts were running back Malik Davis, defensive tackle Justin Rogers, and offensive tackle Josh Ball.
On Wednesday, after waivers cleared, the Cowboys started adding players to the 16-man practice squad
Who will be on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad?
Running back Dalvin Cook worked out with the Cowboys on Tuesday. As Dallas already has Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, Hunter Luepke (fullback), and Deuce Vaughn as part of their running back committee approach, Cook has agreed to join the Cowboys practice squad.
Defensive end Carl Lawson was originally signed with the Cowboys as a potential replacement for Sam Williams, but he didn’t make it to the final cut. However, now Dallas has brought him back to the practice squad in case he needs to be called up.
