Who is Sean Stellato, Tommy DeVito’s agent?

The Giants quarterback has got himself a unique agent, to say the least, and he’s certainly getting noticed.

When it comes to the business side of professional sports, agents can be the difference between a sizeable payday and favorable conditions, and an athlete being taken advantage of by the franchise that he plays for.

That’s precisely why we can consider the New York Giants quarterback’s agent a special individual

Tommy DeVito back in play

On Monday, news broke that the Giants were going to be benching quarterback Daniel Jones and throwing Tommy DeVito back in as starter.

And while DeVito deserves some of the credit for getting back out there – he has been given the opportunity before when injuries hit – one has to spare a thought for the man who has put him where he is, Sean Stellato, his agent.

Introducing Sean Stellato

Before we get into the details, it’s worth noting that there are some glaring similarities between Stellato and his client.

For starters, neither really turned heads at collegiate level in the sports that they played – Stellato played both basketball and football. Then there is their Italian heritage, which, as you can imagine, goes a long way in terms of their relationship. Yet, it’s got to be said that Stellato is a much more flamboyant individual.

While DeVito has been getting some attention in and around the field, his agent has done so both in and out of the boardroom with his impeccable sense of fashion and striking personality.

Stellato, the “Italian Stallion of sports agents”

A native of Salem, Massachusetts, Stellato was always destined to be a star with his well-built frame and bleached blonde hair. Yet, despite his best efforts on the basketball court and the football field at Marist College, he did not find sporting success. After two seasons in the now-defunct Arena Football League, he would call time on his career as a player, however, where the game itself was concerned, he was only just getting started.

Indeed, between his charisma and the contacts that he made in the industry, Stellato began to make moves which eventually led to the creation of his very own sports agency, SES Sports. Over the years he’s represented a number of footballers, but it would be safe to say he’s gone to the next level with DeVito who is going to be getting a whole lot more attention in the coming weeks, especially with a Thanksgiving Day clash with the Cowboys less than two weeks away.

“Sean is always in my corner and will do whatever it takes to help me with my career on and off the field,” DeVito said last year. “He is the Italian Stallion of sports agents.”
