Update:

The Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams face off in this evening’s Conference Championship game - the winner will head into next month’s Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Seattle have been here before - they were crowned NFC champions in 2005, 2013 and 2014, going on to lift the title in 2023, the franchise’s only Super Bowl triumph. For the Rams, it was a much longer wait - after losing Super Bowl XIV to the Steelers, their moment of glory finally arrived in 1999.

So plenty at stake for both teams, and both will be keen to seize this golden opportunity after making it this far.

The Seahawks hold an impressive 13-3 home-postseason record, while the Rams are 29-29 with a winning percentage of 58.2% during the past 10 years.

Country star to sing the national anthem ahead of the NFC Championship game

Tasked with singing the national anthem prior to kick-off is country singer Zach Top. The 28-year-old enjoyed the best year of his career so far with the release of this third studio album, ‘Ain’t In It For My Health’ which hit number 4 on the US country charts and has also been nominated for an award at next week’s Grammys. Top is up for three awards: Best Traditional Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance (both for “I Never Lie”).

Back in May, he was named New Male Artist of the Year at the 60th ACM Awards and was also nominated for Album of the Year.

Zach is no stranger to performing the Star Spangled Banner before sporting events - he did the honors at the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo as well as at the regular season matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium in October 2024.
