After defeat to Bayern Munich, the Spanish giants slide down the UEFA ranking, which measures results in Europe over the last five years.

Real Madrid no longer 1st in UEFA rankings: top five represent big five leagues
Real Madrid’s two losses to Bayern Munich and their subsequent Champions League elimination at the hands of the German side have cost Los Blancos first place in the UEFA rankings, with the Bavarians now moving ahead after a long spell behind. The combined results from the last five seasons now put Bayern on top with 146.5 points, while Madrid sits on 144.5.
Bayern take UEFA rankings top spot
In other words, it is a changing of the guard that reflects the club’s last two European campaigns. In both, Madrid was eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, collecting 27 and 24.5 points – too few to hold on to first place.

It is worth remembering that the UEFA rankings drop the oldest season and keep only the most recent five, which means Madrid has lost a significant share of the points it earned during its glory years of three straight Champions League titles.
Bayern, meanwhile, has picked up 38.2 points this season after reaching the semifinals and winning every game but one in the league phase. Over the last five campaigns, the German club has reached at least the quarterfinals every time and has also made the semifinals twice. This season, it still has a chance to reach the final, although it must first get past PSG. Barcelona, for its part, remains well off the top spots. The Catalan club is eighth with 113.2 points.
