Why is Travis Kelce not in Netflix’s popular show ‘Receiver’?

The Kansas City Chiefs star is making more headlines in the off-season thanks to Taylor Swift, but will not be appearing in the hit TV series.

Travis Kelce Netflix

You know Travis Kelce, right? He’s the boyfriend of singing sensation – and occasional election dabbler – Taylor Swift. Oh yes, and he has been known to moonlight as an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs. Well, on that secondary role, the tight end is happy to keep his fame to the field of play, and is not interested in getting involved in the now familiar TV series, including a clear refusal to be part of Netflix’s upcoming documentary, Receiver.

Travis playing ball, but not with Netflix

“I’d rather just play ball, man,” Kelce said in a recent episode of the ‘Bussin’ with The Boys’ podcast. “I’m already doing enough with the podcast and everything. I’m way over the reality shit, dude. I’m out on that shit.”

The back-to-back Super Bowl winner admitted that he had indeed been approached by the streaming giant, the contact following his teammate Patrick Mahomes’ involvement in a previous series called Quarterback. These documentaries aim to offer an insight into key players as they navigate a season in the NFL.

Receivers is expected to bring behind-the-scenes access to the likes of Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel, Davante Adams, Amon-Ra St. Brown and George Kittle. But it will not have Kelce, maybe being burnt from a previous reality TV stint in Catching Kelce. We understand.
