Ceedee Lamb has been placed on injured reserve ahead of the game against the Eagles (Sun. 29 Dec, 1:00 PM ET) after finally being given some rest by the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas is officially unable to make the postseason and as such has given Lamb, who has been playing injured for the entirety of the season, some much deserved time away to recover.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said after undergoing scans and examinations, it was “clear that [the injury] was worse than it had been” and that it now posed a significant risk regarding longer term issues.

While there have been some question marks over the extent of the issue, Lamb is not expected to need surgery to speed up the recovery of his sprained shoulder and will have plenty of time to rehab and be ready for OTAs.

What is Lamb’s record this season?

Lamb signed a $146 million contract this season and it’s safe to say that fans are not happy with the decision taken by the franchise to bench him for the remaining two games, with some arguing that he should be on the field at this point of the season.

The 25-year-old has 6 touchdowns and 101 receptions in 2024, but his side have not managed to get going at all, with failure after failure coming across a disastrous season.

As well as Lamb, Princeton Fant (questionable/calf), Jalen Tolbert (questionable/finger) and Jalen Brooks (questionable/knee) are all part of the injury list submitted to the NFL.

Brandin Cooks, KaVontae Turpin, Ryan Flournoy and Jonathan Mingo, as well as the aforementioned Tolbert and Brooks, are the team’s rostered wide receivers ahead of the action.

The NFL Week 17 game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles will be played on Sunday December 29, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsyvlania. Kick-off is at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT. Stream the Cowboys vs the Eagles live on fubo (free trial available).
