Why isn’t Darius Slay playing for the Eagles against the Ravens in Week 13? When will he be back?
The Eagles are missing a key part of their defense as cornerback Darius Slay has officially been ruled out of their Week 13 game against the Ravens.
As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to play a challenging Baltimore Ravens team today, they’ll unfortunately do so without one of their best defensive players, cornerback Darius Slay.

Slay’s injury and expected return
Eagles cornerback Darius Slay suffered a concussion early in the second half of their Week 12 game against the Los Angeles Rams and was unable to return to the game. He will need to clear the league’s protocol before he can return to the field.
Unfortunately, that’s not a quick process and Slay did not practice all week. He has been officially ruled out of the Eagles' Sunday game against the Ravens.
Fourth-year cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is likely to start in place of Slay in the lineup. Rodgers replaced Slay in Week 12 after he exited early and although he gave up a few completions, he also forced a red zone fumble that the Eagles were able to recover.
“I have to trust myself. It starts with me, knowing that my teammates around me, my coaches, everybody believes in me, so I have to believe in myself first and foremost,” Rodgers said “It’s all about me going out there and be willing to play my role.”
The Eagles could rely on rookie CB Kelee Ringo to be Rodgers' and Quinyon Mitchell’s primary backup and could slide Cooper DeJean outside. Slay could make his return for the Eagles' Week 14 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, December 8.
