Why isn’t Travis Kelce playing for Chiefs against Chargers?
The team from Kansas City head over to the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles without some big names, including a headline maker for other reasons.
Much of the talk ahead of the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers was whether or not Taylor Swift would be attending to cheer on Travis Kelce. There was a good reason for her being ruled out of that - she’s up for an award at the Golden Globes at the same time - and further news about her man suggests the more relevant question is if he’ll be cheering her on.
Chiefs doing without Travis and others
A ‘coaching decision’ was the official ruling from the Chiefs and that meant the tight end would miss the trip to the SoFi Stadium in LA. This ruling means that Travis’ streak of seven straight seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards is done. He was just 16 yards short coming into the final game. And he’s not alone in not making the game.
Also on the inactive list for the Week 18 clash are Rice, Mahomes, Toney, Sneed, Danna and Smith.
When is Chiefs - Chargers?
The final regular season game for these teams kicks off at 4:25 pm ET / 1:25 PT. The Kansas City players that are fit enough to play in this one are already secure in the knowledge that they have reached the playoffs.
