Why might the Las Vegas Raiders be an ideal destination for Tom Brady?

The explosiveness of the Raiders offense and longstanding ties with head coach Josh McDaniels could be huge factors nudging Tom Brady toward Las Vegas.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were ignominiously shuffled out of the NFL playoffs after suffering a humiliating 31-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

While the rumor mill is swirling with conjecture that Brady will retire, this time for good, there is no certainty in the matter. There is always the possibility that Brady will feel that he still has fuel in the tank and could sign with another team for next season.

If he does decide to forge ahead as an active player, Brady could sign a new deal with Tampa, which is tempting since he already knows their system and has a history with them, having won two NFC South division titles and Super Bowl LV with the Florida team.

But that is not the only option for the legendary signal-caller, and while every team will be happy to have him on board, the most attractive scenario for the veteran quarterback might be to cast his lot with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Las Vegas Raiders?

In Las Vegas, Brady would be hooking up with an old acquaintance from the New England Patriots, Josh McDaniels, former offensive coordinator in Foxborough, now the Raiders’ head coach.

After the departure of starting quarterback Derek Carr, the AFC West team are in the market for an experienced quarterback who can provide immediate results. The massive investment in the team over recent years will mean that owner Mark Davis will be looking for results, and quickly.

Raiders offense

One of the more explosive offenses in the league, the Raiders should hold an attraction for Tom Brady, offering a ready-made lineup with top-tier targets to choose from.

Wide receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow, running back Josh Jacobs or tight end Darren Waller, are well-established pieces of the puzzle and Brady could stretch his impressive stats even further with this squad around him.

Additionally, the Raiders are in a good position come April, with the seventh overall draft pick offering the opportunity to strengthen their side further.

Another point that could sway a competitor like Tom Brady is the fact that as divisional rivals in the AFC West, he would have the chance to go head to head with both Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert twice per season.

This season, Brady finished third in the NFL with 4,694 passing yards, so this direct competition with pretenders to his throne might just whet his appetite.
