Update:

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to start for the Steelers in Sunday’s NFL clash with the Buffalo Bills, two weeks after sustaining a wrist injury in Pittsburgh’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

“All systems go”

Rodgers suffered a fractured wrist during the 34-12 win over the Bengals, leading the 41-year-old to miss last weekend’s 31-28 defeat to the Chicago Bears. Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh’s backup QB, deputized at Soldier Field.

However, Rodgers returned to full practice on Thursday and Friday, and head coach Mike Tomlin said the QB is “all systems go” for this weekend’s Bills matchup.

“He was a full participant today with no designation for the game,” Tomlin told a press conference on Friday.

Rodgers, who is right-handed, has been wearing a stabilizer on the affected wrist during practice, notes ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “He was seen during the individual period of Friday’s practice palming the football with his left hand before firing off a pass with his right,” Pryor added.

Speaking in the buildup to Week 13, the four-time NFL MVP told reporters that his wrist has now benefited from crucial “time for healing” since forcing him to miss the Bears game. Tomlin added: “Certainly it’s another week, and so I’m sure there’s more comfort there, not only in him, but in the medical experts.”

In 10 starts so far this season, Rodgers has thrown for 1,969 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions, with an average passer rating of 97.7.
