Will Alexander Mattison play for the Raiders against the Buccaneers? NFL injury update
Las Vegas travel to Tampa hoping to end a run of eight consecutive defeats, which means they are already out of playoff contention.
The Las Vegas Raiders (2-10) are already out of playoff contention after a miserable 2024 season, with their main objective in the last next few weeks attempting to end a lengthy run of consecutive defeats, starting against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Antonio Pierce’s team have lost each of their last eight NFL games, with their last victory coming against the Cleveland Browns all the way back at the end of September. However, a narrow defeat in their last outing to the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 11-1, offers hope they could still finish with a flourish.
On Sunday, the Raiders travel to Florida to take on the Bucs (6-6), who are fighting to win NFC South. The pressure, on the other hand, will be off Las Vegas, who are boosted by quarterback Aiden O’Connell being available after a minor illness caused him to miss practice on Thursday.
Alexander Mattison’s recent fitness issues
One man who will almost certainly not be involved, however, is Alexander Mattison. Although the running back is officially listed as questionable on the Raiders’ injury report, both ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport have stated he isn’t expected to take to the field in Tampa because of an ankle problem that has limited his participation in practice this week.
Mattison already sat out the defeats to the Denver Broncos and the Chiefs, which means Sincere McCormick should continue in his place.
