Will Davante Adams play for Jets against Bills in Week 17?

Aaron Rodgers could make his 500th passing touchdown against Buffalo, but will wide receiver Adams be available to catch it?

The New York Jets have nothing left to play for in the 2024 NFL regular season, already eliminated from playoff contention with a 4-11 record. They will, however, be hoping to finish with a flourish in their final two games, the first of which is against the Buffalo Bills in week 17. For Sunday’s game at Highmark Stadium, they will hope to be boosted by the presence of wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams was unable to practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week because of a hip injury but there was some good news on Friday as he returned to the field, albeit in a limited capacity. Although the 32-year-old didn’t train fully, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich claimed he “looked good,” so the likelihood is that he will be fit to face the Bills.

With quarterback Aaron Rodgers just one throw away from his 500th passing touchdown, could Adams be the man to catch it?

Jets injury report vs Buffalo Bills in week 17

The wide receiver is one of a long list of Jets players rated as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Starting safety Tony Adams appears set to play following an ankle issue, while there is also hope cornerback Michael Carter will be available having got over the worst of a back injury. Linebacker Haason Reddick, right tackle Morgan Moses, kicker Greg Zuerlein and backup defensive end Braiden McGregor should also be fit to feature despite recent fitness problems.

However, game-time decisions will be made on Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, both of whom have been dealing with hamstring injuries.

When is Jets - Bills in week 17?

The game between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills will be played at Highmark Stadium on Sunday, December 29 (kickoff at 1:00 p.m. ET).

The Jets are very much second favourites against the Bills, who are 12-3 for the season and were one of the first teams to clinch their division (the AFC East). The New Yorkers haven’t qualified for the playoffs since 2010, the longest drought of any franchise in the NFL.
