Will Isaac Guerendo play for the 49ers against the Rams in Week 15? NFL injury update
The San Francisco 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams for Thursday Night Football but they may be without their standout rookie performer from last week.
The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Los Angeles Rams for Thursday Night Football this week and they’ll do so shorthanded at the running back position. With Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason both on Injured Reserve already, the Niners turned to Isaac Guerendo last week, but that may have been short-lived.
Guerendo’s status for TNF
Rookie Isaac Guerendo performed extremely well in the 49ers' Week 14 victory over the Chicago Bears. He had 15 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns, plus two catches for 50 yards, becoming the first player this season to have a rushing touchdown and 50 receiving yards in the first quarter of a game.
Unfortunately, he sprained his foot late in that game and the Niners are on a short week with a Thursday night game. Guerendo did not practice on Monday or Tuesday, but was able to be a limited participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough, which is positive news.
Guerendo is currently listed as questionable on the 49ers' injury report, which we will continue to monitor ahead of tonight’s game. On the season, he’s rushed for 324 yards and four touchdowns. If he sits out, it will be Patrick Taylor Jr. who takes his place in the lineup.
The game between the Niners and Rams will take place at Levi’s Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET tonight. Our very own Dane Aurluckas will be bringing you all the live text coverage right here on AS USA.
