The Seahawks face the Bears for Thursday Night Football, but they’ll be missing a key piece of their offense as they look to keep playoff hopes alive.

Will Kenneth Walker III play for the Seahawks against the Bears? NFL injury update

The Seattle Seahawks are heading to Chicago tonight to face the Bears for Thursday Night Football in Week 17. The 8-7 Seahawks don’t necessarily need a win to keep their playoff chances alive, but it would definitely help them increase the chances, especially if the Los Angeles Rams, who are currently a game ahead in the NFC West, were to lose on Saturday to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Bears are at 4-11 and already out of the playoff picture. Still, the Seahawks will want to play to their best ability tonight as no win is guaranteed. Unfortunately, they’ll be without at least one key offensive starter.

Kenneth Walker III out vs Bears for TNF

Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has had a tough season full of injuries. He just came back last week from a calf injury that kept him out for two games, and now he’s dealing with an ankle injury.

The ankle injury kept Walker from practicing all week this week, and he has now been officially ruled out of Thursday’s game against the Bears. It will be his fifth missed game this season thanks to injuries. When he’s in, he’s a great contributor to the Seattle offense, with 153 carries for 573 yards (3.7 yards per carry), and seven rushing touchdowns on the season. He’s also added 46 catches on 53 targets for 299 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Thankfully the Seahawks have a pretty decent backup in Zach Charbonnet, who has 106 carries for 453 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and eight rushing touchdowns through 15 games this season. He started three of Seattle’s last four games and recorded a career-high 134 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in their Week 14 game against the Arizona Cardinals. In his four starts this season, he’s had 62 carries 317 yards and six touchdowns. He’s also added 16 receptions on 20 targets for 118 yards.

The game between the Seahawks and Bears kicks off tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET from Soldier Field. You can follow along with our live text coverage brought to you by Dane Arlauckas right here on AS USA.
