Not everyone in Philadelphia is celebrating following the Eagles' victory over the Washington Commanders that secured them a spot in Super Bowl LVII.

During the celebrations, an 18-year-old fan tragically lost his life after falling from a light pole.

Tyler Sabapathy, a college student, passed away three days after being rushed to the hospital following the incident on Sunday, January 26.

Local authorities confirmed that Sabapathy arrived at the hospital in critical condition. He had climbed the light pole before slipping and falling headfirst, suffering a traumatic brain injury. Sadly, he died just hours after being admitted.

Who was Tyler Sabapathy?

Tyler Sabapathy was born in Toronto, Canada, and was a student at Temple University in Philadelphia, where he was studying public health with a focus on exercise and sports science, according to the university.

“The loss of a promising 18-year-old like Tyler is both tragic and heartbreaking,” the university said in a statement. “There are no words that can make sense of this, and the entire Temple community mourns his passing. Our hearts are with his family, friends, classmates, and all those who knew and loved Tyler.”
