The winner takes it all!

Sweden's Sarah Sjöström took the women's 50m freestyle gold at La Défense Arena, finishing on 23.71, ahead of Australia's Meg Harris and China's Zhang Yufei.

Lee and Wang successfully defend their title

Winners  at Tokyo 2020, Chinese Taipei's Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin did it again in Paris.

The pair edged a close, three-game match, beating top seeds Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang 21-17, 18-21, 21-19 to win the men's badminton doubles, becoming the first pair to successfully defend their Olympic men's doubles title.

Djokovic sees off Alcaraz to take gold

Novak Djokovic finally wins an Olympic gold medal, completing an extraordinary honors list.

The Serbian edged Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(3) 7-6(2) in this afternoon's final, in a close game in which both sets were decided by tiebreaks.

Djokovic won bronze in Beijing but the gold medal has always evaded him. He finished fourth in 2012 and 2020.

Alcaraz, who bear Djokovic at Wimbledon last month, wins silver in his Olympic debut.

Kaylia Nemour wins gold for Algeria

Kaylia Nemour, the big favorite to win the women's uneven bars gold, pulled out the performance of a lifetime to clinch the title.

The 17-year-old bar specialist, who has already posted nine of the top 10 scores this year, recorded an incredible score of 15.700 to end first on the podium.

China gold and silver in rings

Liu Yang and Zou Jingyuan put China further ahead on the medal board by taking gold and silver respectively in the rings event.

Liu Yang finished with a score of 15.300, Zou Jingyuan not far behind on 15.233 and Greece's Eleftherios Petrounias took bronze on 15.100.

Kim wins archery gold by 3 centimeters

Kim Woojin picked up another gold for South Korea in a dramatic finale to this afternoon's individual men's gold medal match.

The contest was decided by a shoot-off in which both Kim and USA's Brady Ellison hit 10 but the Korean's was just 3 centimeters closer to the center.
