Men's 73kg judo gold for Heydarov
Congratulations to Azerbaijan, as they pick up gold in the judo. It's silver for Frenchman Joan-Benjamin Gaba.
Adil Osmanov, representing Moldova, and Japan's Hashimoto Soichi claimed the bronze medals.
It's 2 in a row for Japan's Yuto Horigome
In impressive fashion, defending Olympic champion, Yuto Horigome of Japan retained his title with a stunning final trick in the men's street skateboarding contest.With a staggering score of 97.08 on the final run, Horigome jumped to a final score of 281.14 and with that, takes the gold medal once again!
Oh Canada
It's a historic day for Canada as the country claims its first gold medal in Judo at an Olympic Games. It should be said that the medal will be shared as Canadian Christa Deguchi and her Republic of Korea opponent Huh Mimi couldn't be separated in regulation time in their 57kg final. Bronzes will go to Funakubo Haruka of Japan and home favourite Sarah Léonie Cysique.
France comes out on top in canoeing
The French are celebrating this evening after hometown hero Nicolas Gestin rode a wave of support to get the better of Great Britain's Adam Burgess who initially posted a time of 96.84 which was impressive, to say the least. Yet, it was clearly Gestin's day as his time of 91.36 secured the gold medal. With that Burgess takes silver and Slovakia's Matej Benus rounds out the podium with the bronze.
Republic of Korea takes gold in archery...again
The Republic of Korea continues to dominate in archery, beating France in the men's team final on Monday. After marching to the final the Koreans gave little chance to hosts France who were, it must be said, surprise qualifiers for this stage of the tournament. The score ended 5-1 on set points, while Turkey took completed the podium in the event.
You don't see that everyday

The USA's women's water polo team, which is going for a fourth straight Olympic gold, is dealing with some very sad news.
Captain Maggie Steffens has confirmed that her sister-in-law, 26-year-old Lulu Conner, died in Paris in the days before the Games, having suffered a "medical emergency."
Jung bags third Olympic gold
In equestrian Germany's Michael Jung has added to his collection of gold medals in the individual jumping event, winning his third Olympic title.
Jung had previously won the individual jumping in 2012 and 2016.
Australia's Christopher Burton has taken silver, with Great Britain's Laura Collett completing the podium.

Another gold for Team GB
Having secured their first gold of the Games a short while ago, Great Britain now have a second!
In the men's cross-country mountain bike race, Tom Pidcock has retained his Olympic title by coming back to beat France's Victor Koretzky.
South Africa's Alan Hatherly took bronze.
At Paris 2024, athletes are not only competing for medals: a lesser-known prize that's up for grabs at the Games is a certificate known as the Olympic diploma.

Great Britain have their first gold medal of the 2024 Games!
The trio of Rosalind Canter, Tom McEwen and Laura Collett have won equestrian's team eventing competition, ahead of France and Japan.

Behind gold-medallist Sheng Lihao, Sweden's Victor Lindgren (left) took silver in the men's 10m air rifle, with Croatia's Miran Maricic (right) securing bronze.

Sheng Lihao wins another shooting gold for China
Another Chinese gold medal to tell you about: Sheng Lihao has the men's 10m air rifle final, posting an Olympic-record score of 252.2.
That's his second gold of the Paris Games, as he also won the mixed team 10m air rifle with Huang Yuting.
Lian and Yang take men's synchronised 10m platform gold
Lian Junjie and Yang Hao of China won gold in the men's 10m synchronised platform on what was their Olympic debut. They securing the top score in each round for a total of 490.35 points.
Tom Daley and Noah Williams of Team GB claimed silver – making Daley the first diver to win three Olympic medals in this event – while Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray of Canada earned bronze.
With Simone Biles back for her third Olympics, the gymnastics events, held at the Bercy Arena in Paris, are wowing the crowds.

That was truly stunning from Ban, who is only 16 years old.
She had to win a shoot-off against Huang Yuting after both scored 251.8, which equals the Olympic record of China's Yang Qian set at Tokyo 2020.
Hyojin wins women's 10m air rifle gold!
I told you we were close and the first medal of the day goes to Ban Hyojin who takes the women's 10m air rifle gold for South Korea.
Silver goes to China's Huang Yuting and Audrey Gogniat gets bronze for Switzerland, the country's first medal of these Games.
As we await the first medal news of the day – which shouldn't be too far away if the shooters continue to hit their targets – let's reflect briefly on one of the surprise highlights from the opening ceremony on Friday.
The masked individual (or, should I say, individuals) garnered plenty of attention and curiosity grew as to what lay underneath the costume, something that was not revealed.
