Congratulations to Azerbaijan, as they pick up gold in the judo. It's silver for Frenchman Joan-Benjamin Gaba.

It's 2 in a row for Japan's Yuto Horigome

In impressive fashion, defending Olympic champion, Yuto Horigome of Japan retained his title with a stunning final trick in the men's street skateboarding contest.With a staggering score of 97.08 on the final run, Horigome jumped to a final score of 281.14 and with that, takes the gold medal once again!

Oh Canada

It's a historic day for Canada as the country claims its first gold medal in Judo at an Olympic Games. It should be said that the medal will be shared as Canadian Christa Deguchi and her Republic of Korea opponent Huh Mimi couldn't be separated in regulation time in their 57kg final. Bronzes will go to Funakubo Haruka of Japan and home favourite Sarah Léonie Cysique.

France comes out on top in canoeing

The French are celebrating this evening after hometown hero Nicolas Gestin rode a wave of support to get the better of Great Britain's Adam Burgess who initially posted a time of 96.84 which was impressive, to say the least. Yet, it was clearly Gestin's day as his time of 91.36 secured the gold medal. With that Burgess takes silver and Slovakia's Matej Benus rounds out the podium with the bronze.

Republic of Korea takes gold in archery...again

The Republic of Korea continues to dominate in archery, beating France in the men's team final on Monday. After marching to the final the Koreans gave little chance to hosts France who were, it must be said, surprise qualifiers for this stage of the tournament. The score ended 5-1 on set points, while Turkey took completed the podium in the event.

Lulu Conner, Maggie Steffens’ sister-in-law, dies after travelling to Paris to cheer her on

The USA's women's water polo team, which is going for a fourth straight Olympic gold, is dealing with some very sad news.

Captain Maggie Steffens has confirmed that her sister-in-law, 26-year-old Lulu Conner, died in Paris in the days before the Games, having suffered a "medical emergency."

Lian and Yang take men's synchronised 10m platform gold

Lian Junjie and Yang Hao of China won gold in the men's 10m synchronised platform on what was their Olympic debut. They securing the top score in each round for a total of 490.35 points.

Tom Daley and Noah Williams of Team GB claimed silver – making Daley the first diver to win three Olympic medals in this event – while Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray of Canada earned bronze.
