Wiffen breaks the 800m free Olympic record and takes gold!
It's not exactly medals talk, but the news of the USA being too strong for Guinea in the final game of their Olympic Games soccer group is certainly a big talking point of the evening.
Joe was on hand to take us through the action, which did not disappoint.
Brazil gets on the podium!
Not a very typical team at the gymnastics's competitions. The Brazilians will take the bronze back home, and a very well-deserved one. Maybe this is a sign of what is to come for the South Americans.
Team USA dominating gymnastics once more!
US gymnastics has done it once more!! The gold is going back to the American soil! Simone Biles and the rest of the crew dominated all events with a slight hiccup at the bars part of it. This is the fourth gold medal in this discipline for them and the fifth gold medal for the Simone "the goat" Biles. It seems she has left the twisties back in Tokyo!
New Zealand takes home another Rugby gold!
The Canadian dream has ended and once more New Zealand took home the gold in rugby. They dominated the match even though Canada gave them a run for their money. This seven women's competition has been one of the most exciting events of the games so far, a total win.
Gold medal events to come:
While your focus might be on the Women's Team Gymnastics Final, make sure you keep an eye out for the Women's Team Epee gold medal round in Fencing. That starts at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Swimming gold medals will be given out, starting at 2:56 p.m ET.
Canada secures silver at the Paris Olympics
The women's rugby team has secure their podium spot as they have won silver in Paris.
Slovenia on the board
It took four days, but Team Slovenia have their first medal of the Paris Olympics and Andreja Leski made it worth the wait. She won gold in the Judo for the women's 63 KG class. Mexican Prisca Awiti Alcaraz won silver and Laura Fazliu of Kosovo brought her country the fifth medal in Olympic history.
The Women's Gymnastics Team Competition is underway. Simone Biles headlines a stacked Team USA that is a heavy favorite to win gold today in Paris. Great Britain and Brazil are the second and third favorites to medal. At -1100, you would put the bank on Biles and the rest of Team USA to be standing on the tallest podium when it's all said and done despite the non-issue that people want to make an issue between Suni Lee and Jordan Jordan Chiles.
Hale fellow well met
World record holder Nathan Hales scored 48 out of 50 in the men's trap to set a new Olympic record and clinch gold for Team GB. He finished ahead of China's Qi Ying (44) and Guatamala's Jean Pierre Brol Cardenas (35).
Hales secures a third gold medal for Great Britain, who have a grand total of 11 including silver and bronze, to place them seventh in the overall table.
Wang and Sun shine for China
Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha collected another gold medal for China, winning the mixed doubles table tennis event on Tuesday. Wang and Sun beat South Korea's Ri Jong Sik and Kim Kum Yong 4-2.

Coco Gauff bows out of the women's singles
Coco Gauff is out of the women's singles after losing her third round match 7-6 (7) y 6-2 to Croatia's Donna Vekic on Court Philippe-Chatrier at Roland-Garros.
It was a frustrating time out on court for the American, who had a disagreement with the umpire but her Olympics aren't over - she is still in the women's doubles with Jessica Pegula and into the second round.
As for Vekic, she equals Iva Majoli as the only two Croatians to reach the women's singles quarter finals at the Olympics.
More medals for South Korea
Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin boosted South Korea's Paris 2024 medals tally to 10, after beating China's Chun Ting Wong and Hoi Kem Doo to take bronze.
Tatjana Smith payback
Zimbabwe-born swimmer Tatjana Smith, who took gold in the women's 100m breaststroke final yesterday dedicated her win to all of the people who have helped her along the way.
Here's a piece we've done giving more insight into that incredible photo mentioned earlier.
Gold for Serbia in mixed team 10m air pistol
It's a first for Serbia*, as shooters Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec take gold in the mixed team 10m air pistol, the only shooting Olympic gold the country has won. They beat Türkiye's Yusuf Dikec and Şevval İlayda Tarhan, who go home with a silver.
* It's worth noting that The Olympic Committee of Serbia, which was recognised in 1912, is deemed the direct successor to both the Yugoslav Olympic Committee and the Olympic Committee of Serbia and Montenegro by the IOC. From 1920 to 2006, athletes representing these defunct countries won a total of 95 medals at the Summer Games including Aleksandra Ivosev's shooting gold in1996.
Bronze for India!
The first medal of today is won by Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh representing India.
This was in the 10m air pistol mixed team, and is the country's second medal of these Games.
Türkiye and Serbia will now decide the gold and silver medals.
Iconic moment
Talking of the surfers, here's a snap in time of Brazilian Gabriel Medina that is going wild across social media. Well played, Jerome Brouillet and your camera.
Surfers await the right waves
As well as the triathlon, we'll also have to wait for the right water conditions for the surfing competition to continue. A decision on this will be made later in the day.
You'll remember that the surfers are in Tahiti – Paris not particularly well-known for its waves – but will have to chill for a bit until Mother Nature sorts herself out.
With numerous questions being raised over what could happen to the triathlon even if the water in the Seine still isn't clean enough to continue tomorrow, our Sveto took a look at the alternatives as pollution causes logistical headaches for the Olympic Games hosts.
Men's triathlon postponed
As mentioned, two medal events that we were looking forward to today have been postponed. The first to go was the men's triathlon, which sees the athletes race by swimming then cycling then running. Yes, I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
Due to 'water quality' issues in the River Seine, said to have been caused by the recent rainfall, the first leg cannot happen so has been moved to tomorrow.
Here's the full statement from World Triathlon:
"Following a meeting on water quality held on 30 July at 3.30am attended by Paris 2024, representatives of World Triathlon and their Technical and Medical Delegates, the International Olympic Committee, Météo France, the City of Paris and the Prefecture of the Île-de-France Region involved in carrying out water quality tests, decision has been made to postpone the men’s triathlon event which was due to be held on 30 July at 8am.
Considering the latest weather information, it has been decided to schedule the men’s triathlon event on 31 July at 10h45. The women’s triathlon is due to take place the same day at 8am. Both triathlons are subject to the forthcoming water tests complying with the established World Triathlon thresholds for swimming. The original contingency day also remains in place for August 2, for further considerations.
Paris 2024 and World Triathlon reiterate that their priority is the health of the athletes. The tests carried out in the Seine today revealed water quality levels that did not provide sufficient guarantees to allow the event to be held.
Unfortunately, meteorological events beyond our control, such as the rain which fell over Paris on 26 and 27 July, can alter water quality and compel us to reschedule the event for health reasons. Despite the improvement on the water quality levels in the last hours, the readings at some points of the swim course are still above the acceptable limits.
We will provide the athletes who are due to take part in the men’s triathlon event with all information on its postponement, as well as real-time updates on the situation. Information regarding tickets and broadcast of the events on Wednesday July 31 will be shared in the next hours.
There will be a meeting at 8am between World Triathlon and the coaches to provide further information and the updated schedule for July 31. Links to attend this meeting will be shared with the coaches directly shortly."

2024 Paris Olympics Day 4: welcome
Good morning and welcome to the fourth day at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Everything is relative so when I say that today's action is rather quiet, don't take that to mean that you can skip it. There are still 12 gold medals being fought for and a total of 24 sports in play (this should have been 14 medal events but we're two down - more to follow on that)
Badminton, basketball, boxing and Biles... let's make a bee line to what's happening on this Tuesday morning in Paris.
