Update:

The Olympic action gets going today after a stunning opening ceremony in which two of my three favourite things happened: the Italian anthem was given a historically beautiful rendition, and a JD Vance was booed to the high heavens.

Today, figure skating headlines the day for many U.S. fans, with the men’s short programme in the team event on the agenda.
