How many Olympic medals has Lebron James won?

After a big scare against Serbia, ‘King James’ will try to guide his teammates to the gold medal in the final match against hosts France.

Team USA and France will collide for Olympic glory in the men’s basketball tournament. Team USA are massive favorites to clinch gold, while France have proven they could be a threat to anyone due to their talent and their fans’ support.

Steve Kerr’s men will be in the last round after defeating Serbia in a match the Americans were down by 17 points. However, Steph Curry, James, and Joel Embiid led a reaction that saw the NBA stars turn things around to make a big comeback and defeat Svetislav Pesic’s men in the game’s final moments.

Both teams played three times in less than a month, with Team USA winning all of those games. However, the Serbs seemed to have found the formula and the inspiration to put their opponents in real trouble after their two clear defeats. But in the fourth quarter, they missed some key shots and the Americans had their best minutes of the game playing under pressure.

In the previous semifinal, France got the better of Germany after avenging their 14-point defeat to the current world champions only some days before.

Lebron James: how many medals has he won in the Olympics?

It will probably be the last Summer Games for James, as he’s 39 and has previously competed in the Olympic basketball tournament.

King James is widely known as one of the biggest NBA superstars ever, and usually compared to Michael Jordan when it comes to the greatest of all times question.

All basketball fans know about his accomplishments in the NBA and the records he has broken over the years in his illustrious career, but his Olympic record may not be that recognizable for everyone.

The Akron native has won three medals in the Games, one bronze and two gold. The US finished third in the 2004 Athens Olympics, with Bron averaging 5.4 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per game. Back then a young James competed alongside names like Allen Iverson, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Tim Duncan.

Everything changed in Beijing. In 2008, Lebron already had star status. They won the gold medal against Spain in the final, in one of the best Olympic basketball matches ever.

Four years later, after winning his first NBA Championship with the Miami Heat, James returned to the Olympics, in London. Alongside Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Anthony Davis, and Carmelo Anthony, he clinched gold after Team USA beat Spain again. In 24.9 minutes per game, he averaged 13.3 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.6 rebounds.
