Team USA is undefeated after two games of the USA Basketball Showcase and will face their toughest test of their pre Olympic tour against Serbia on Wednesday.
The USA Basketball Showcase is in full swing as Team USA gears up for the Paris Olympics starting at the end of the month. They won their first two games of the tour, and will take on one of the best teams in the world in their next game from Abu Dhabi.
Team USA struggles against Aussies
After two games, Team USA is undefeated but it hasn’t been easy for one of the most talented teams to ever grace a basketball court. This USA squad has been compared to the legendary Dream Team of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics after LeBron James, Steph Curry and a handful of the best players in the world committed to bring the US their fifth straight Olympic gold medal.
They tipped off their Showcase against Canada from Las Vegas last week, and took on a talented roster of NBA stars, but handled them comfortably in an 86-72 win before taking their tour overseas. LeBron, Curry and an injured Kevin Durant landed in Abu Dhabi to get ready for their first of two games in Dubai.

They took on the Boomers of Australia on Monday from the Etihad Arena, and while they looked the better team for much of the game they had to fend off a late game comeback from the Aussies. Anthony Davis had 17 points and 14 rebounds in a game that the US led by more than 20 points in the second half, but Australia cut the lead to just six with five minutes to go.
Serbia awaits in Abu Dhabi
The US looked like they were in full control but a mix of turnovers and offensive rebounds from Australia allowed the Boomers to claw back into the game before Team USA eventually closed them out late in the 4th quarter. Tyrese Haliburton hit two clutch threes to stretch the lead back to 12 and Devin Booker would help carry his side to the finish line, going 7/7 from the line on his way to 16 points in the win.
Next up for the Americans is Serbia, a team loaded with talent led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. Jokic is joined by NBA players Bogdan Bogdanovic, Vasilije Micic and a handful of stars from the Euroleague like Aleksa Avromovic, Marko Guduric and Vladimir Lucic. Serbia will be in their group from Paris, and is one of the favorites in the tournament outside of Team USA.

The game against Serbia will be played at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi with tip off set for 12:00 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on FS1 and can stream the game on FuboTv. This will be the final game from Abu Dhabi before Team USA heads to London for their final two games from London, England.
