OLYMPIC GAMES
Which venues will the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games use?
Basketball will be played at the Intuit Dome, gymnastics at the Crypto.com Arena, track and field at the Coliseum, and swimming at SoFi Stadium.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are less than 50 days away from starting, and the organizing committee of the 2028 Los Angeles Games announced the venues where four disciplines will take place. The city of Los Angeles won the Olympic Games in 2017, and many properties were not ready, like SoFi Stadium, or had not even been planned, like the Intuit Dome.
The Crypto.com Arena, home of the NBA Lakers, the WNBA Sparks, and the NHL Kings, will be modified to accommodate gymnastics events.
The swimming competitions will take place at SoFi Stadium, home of the NFL’s Chargers and Rams. According to the organizing committee, this will be the discipline event with the most fans since 38 thousand seats will be available.
Steve Ballmer, owner of the NBA Clippers, made a large investment to stop living in the same building as the Lakers and was in charge of building the Intuit Dome, where Olympic basketball will be held in 2028.
The Los Angeles Coliseum is a very important building in the legacy of the Olympic Games, and its importance will increase because athletics and para-athletics will take place at the venue at 3911 S Figueroa St for the third time in history.
