Update:

The United States men’s hockey team needs to win to continue into the medal round. Team USA will be playing Sweden to move on to the semifinals.

Expectations are high with this group which reflects a clear shift in how USA Hockey wants to compete on the international stage. Many of the selected players featured prominently in the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off and the IIHF World Championship, tournaments that served as unofficial auditions for Olympic selection.

Up front, the Americans boast one of the deepest forward groups in the tournament. Several elite NHL scorers are included, and message is clear: this team is expected to play together, not rely solely on individual brilliance.
