2022 US Open: Who plays today August 29? Match times for Medvedev, Kyrgios, Murray
It’s Day 1 of the last Grand Slam tennis event of the year, and some of the most intriguing players are set to get on court for the start of the US Open.
The US Open main draw kicks off on Monday, Aug. 29, and some of the tournament’s stars will already see action on Day 1.
Defending singles champion and current world number one Daniil Medvedev plays his first match at Arthur Ashe Stadium against Stefan Kozlov of the United States.
The first game in the women’s division also features an American- Coco Gauff will enjoy home court advantage when she goes up against Leolia Jeanjean of France.
In the evening comes the highly anticipated appearance of Serena Williams, who is expected to retire after the tournament. She faces Danka Kovinic of Montenegro during the night session at Arthur Ashe.

Fans of Andy Murray can catch him during the day at Louis Armstrong Stadium, where he is expected to have a tough opener against world number 24 Francisco Cerundulo at 11 a.m.
Taylor Fritz, currently ranked 13th in the world, will have his opening match against fellow American Brandon Holt.
