2023 Wells Fargo Championship: First round tee times, pairings, and featured groups
On Thursday, May 4, the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship of the PGA Tour will begin at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The PGA Tour’s Wells Fargo Championship is a highly-regarded professional golf tournament held annually in early May at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since its inception in 2003, the tournament has attracted many of the world’s top golfers, making it a popular stop on the tour.
Originally known as the Wachovia Championship, it was renamed the Wells Fargo Championship in 2009 after Wells Fargo acquired Wachovia.

Past winners include Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and Rickie Fowler. The Quail Hollow Club, home to the tournament, is renowned for its challenging course featuring tight fairways and fast greens. This prestigious club has also hosted the PGA Championship and the Presidents Cup.
This tournament is one of PGA Tours’ prestigious events featuring an impressive lineup of top-ranked golfers competing for a $20 million prize purse.
2023 Wells Fargo Championship Round 1 tee times
The 2023 field boasts renowned players such as Max Homa, the winner of last year’s Wells Fargo, Rory McIlroy, a three-time Wells Fargo champion, and Tony Finau, the recent victor of the Mexico Open. While there will be plenty of notable players, it’s worth mentioning that Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler will unfortunately not be participating in this event.
