2024 BMW Championship Round 3 Saturday tee times, pairings and featured groups
We head into the third round at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado with Adam Scott leading Keegan Bradley by three shots.
Adam Scott surged into the lead at the BMW Championship in Castle Rock, Colorado, with a remarkable 9-under-par 63 in the second round. The 44-year-old Australian, who last won on the PGA Tour in February 2020, now sits at 13-under 131, holding a three-shot lead. Scott entered the tournament ranked 41st in FedEx Cup points and was one of the last players to qualify for this event, which features the top 50 players.
Scott’s round included four birdies on the front nine and a strong back nine, highlighted by three consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 14 and a near-perfect tee shot on the par-3 16th, which set up another birdie. His strong finish continued on the par-5 17th, where he got up and down from a bunker for a final birdie. It was a delightful day’s viewing for the fans.
Bradley and Adberg chase Scott
Keegan Bradley, the first-round leader, trails Scott by three shots after carding a 68, falling just short of two consecutive bogey-free rounds with a mistake on the 18th. Ludvig Aberg matched Scott’s low round of the day with a 63, placing him third at 9 under. Alex Noren (-8) and Taylor Pendrith (-7) are also in contention.
Other notable players include Patrick Cantlay (-5), Collin Morikawa (-4), and Rory McIlroy (-3), all potentially within reach of the leaders. Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler, the top two players in the FedEx Cup standings, struggled, finishing at 2 under and 1 under, respectively. You can check out the full leaderboard on the official site which will update throughout the day’s play.
The day also saw the withdrawal of Hideki Matsuyama, who pulled out due to lower back discomfort after a strong showing in the first round and a victory at last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship.
