The last major event in the golf calendar, the 2024 British Open, is about to start and 158 players will meet in Scotland to try to win one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport.
The event returns to the Royal Troon Golf Club, founded in 1878, for the first time since 2016 when Sweden’s Henrik Stenson came out on top in a thrilling battle against Phil Mickelson.
The last man to win the trophy was the American Brian Harman, finishing on 13 under at a rain-soaked Royal Liverpool. Besides the prestigious title, golfers will fight for a record $17 million purse.
Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Bryson DeChambeau are just some of the main favorites to emerge victorious in the British Open.
