2024 Cognizant Classic Round 2 Friday tee times, pairings, and featured groups
The PGA Tour officials announced that the first round of the Florida tournament will resume at 8:15 a.m., and the second round will start at 6:45 a.m.
In the first round of the Cognizant Classic, PGA National played more easily than usual, which surprised many players who were familiar with the challenges of this course. The ease of play is due to a few factors, including converting the par-4 10th hole to a par-5 and widening the fairways. These changes have made it easier for players to navigate the course, leading to lower scoring than expected.
Despite the relatively low scores, players still had to perform well to beat the competition. Chad Ramey and S.H. Kim were the only ones who managed to shoot 64s to take the lead at seven under. They are ahead of a large group of competitors, looking to catch up in the following rounds.
It will be interesting to see if the course conditions change in the upcoming rounds and if the players can continue to perform at a high level. For now, it is a great start for Ramey and Kim, who have given themselves a solid chance to win the tournament. Also, part of the first round of the Cognizant Classic was suspended due to darkness, with several players still having one more hole left to play.
