2024 Genesis Scottish Open: Round 2 Friday tee times and groupings

A week before the Open Championship takes place in Troon, the Renaissance Club hosts the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open.

Genesis Scottish Open

The Rolex Series event at The Renaissance Club features a strong field, with former World Number One and two-time Major champion Justin Thomas leading after the first round with an eight-under-par effort. Thomas started with a birdie on the first and went on to pick up seven shots in nine holes, finishing one shot ahead of South Korea’s Sungjae Im.

Thomas leads going into Day 2

Thomas, who has 15 PGA Tour wins but none outside the Majors and World Golf Championships on the DP World Tour, seeks to become the third American winner of Scotland’s national championship in the last decade. His round included a series of impressive birdies and a 42-foot putt on the 12th.

Im had a strong round with eight birdies but dropped shots at the first and 17th holes. Other notable performances included Thomas Detry, who had a hole-out eagle and finished two shots off the lead despite a bogey on the 17th; Ludvig Åberg, who made an eagle on the 16th and a long birdie on the 17th to climb the leaderboard; and Justin Lower, who carded seven birdies and a bogey.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy finished five under par, along with several other notable players, including Tommy Fleetwood, Alex Noren, and Collin Morikawa, all still very much in contention.
