The first round of action at the 2024 Amgen Irish Open gets underway on Thursday morning (12 September) with the action running through to Sunday where the winner will be crowned with the tournament being staged at the spectacular Royal County Down Club in Newcastle.

Two of the confirmed participants are Shane Lowry, a local favorite and the 2019 Open Champion, who is determined to reclaim the title he first won in 2009 as an amateur as well as Rory McIlroy who will be back on home soil in Northern Ireland.

Apart from the interest that both McIlroy and Lowry will generate, other members of the Irish golfing elite such as Padraig Harrington, Seamus Power, and Tom McKibben will be part of the other star-studded lineup at their home national open tournament.
