Andy Ruiz will face Luis Ortiz in a heavyweight match on Sunday where both boxers will try to advance their journey to championship contention.


Andy Ruiz and Luis Ortiz will battle each other on Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Crypto.com Arena, with both heavyweights trying to earn their way to another shot at the championship.
Ruiz (34-2, 22 KO) scored a shocking win over Anthony Joshua in 2019 to clinch the WBA, IBF, and WBO world titles, only to have the Briton win them back a few months later.
Ortiz once held the WBA interim heavyweight title and challenged for the WBC heavyweight title twice against Deontay Wilder. Those were the only losses on his boxing record.

In his last fight against, he knocked out Charles Martin, but was first sent to the canvas two times himself.
The 43-year-old Cuban will go up against an opponent more than ten years his junior, and he will be out to prove that he still has a lot of power left in his punches.

Ortiz on the other hand appeared to have slowed down in his clash with Martin, although he proved he could still deliver a knockout punch.
