Canelo Álvarez fights this Saturday in Las Vegas, but outside the boxing ring, here’s a closer look at his family life: how many kids he has and who their mothers are.
As has become tradition around Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will once again step into the ring. The bout is set for Saturday, September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where he will face Terence Crawford. Crawford has won belts in four weight classes, is the undisputed champion at super lightweight and welterweight, and enters the fight undefeated against the Mexican star. But outside boxing, Álvarez is the proud father of five children.
This past April, Álvarez’s wife, Fernanda Gómez, revealed the couple was expecting their second child together. “We have news! Our family is growing with our second daughter. We’re waiting for you with so much love. My baby girl will have a lifelong companion. I love you so much,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Today, the Mexican fighter is a proud father of five: four daughters and one son, whom he shares with his wife and several former partners.

Emily Cinnamon Álvarez
The boxer’s eldest daughter, born when Canelo was just 17 with his teenage girlfriend, Karen Beltrán. Her middle name is a nod to his famous nickname, which is Spanish for cinnamon.
Emily maintains a close relationship with her father and his family. She has often been seen ringside, cheering for him during some of his biggest fights.
Mia Ener Alvarez
Reports say Canelo’s second daughter arrived while he was still in a relationship with sports presenter Marisol González. Mía Ener’s mother is model Valeria Quiroz.
María Fernanda Álvarez
Fernanda and Canelo began dating in 2016 but split the following year. During their separation, they welcomed their first daughter, María Fernanda.
Despite her birth, the couple did not immediately reconcile. In 2017, Canelo dated Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima, who was previously married to singer Marc Anthony. That relationship ended quickly, and by 2018, Canelo and Fernanda were back together. They married in a private ceremony in Punta de Mita, Nayarit, on May 15, 2021. Today, they share two daughters: María Fernanda and their youngest, Eva Victoria.
