Clay Guida’s dubious UFC record: The fighter with all-time most losses

The 14th and final UFC event of 2024, UFC 310, is set for Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (preliminary bouts starting time: Saturday 7 December, 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT.).

Headlining the event, flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja (28-5 MMA, 12-3 UFC) will defend his title for the third time against former RIZIN FF champion and octagon debutant Kai Asakura (21-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Pantoja goes into this as the favourite: his three victories in UFC flyweight championship fights put him level in second in the divison, behind only Demetrious Johnson (12). The Brazilian is also on a six-fight UFC winning streak at flyweight - the longest active streak of any fighter in the same class.

However, the elite fight on the night is not the only event grabbing the eyes and ears of the fans, with many also interested to see Clay Guida take to the octagon.

Guida, an American fighter, will take on Chase Hooper (14-3-1 MMA, 6-3 UFC) as part of the lightweight division undercard. He is set to take part in what will be his 37th UFC bout, the fourth-most in history behind Jim Miller (45), Andrei Arlovski (42) and Donald Cerrone (38).

However, his 18-18 record sees him come into the bout as the fighter with the most losses ever in the competition, along with Jeremy Stephens and Andrei Arlovski.

But don’t think he’s a pushover: he’s landed a total of 78 takedowns in the competition, putting him up in fourth in company history, behind St-Pierre (90), Merab Dvalishvili (85) and Gleison Tibau (84).

What is the age difference between Clay Guida and Chase Hooper?

At 25-years-old, Hooper is 17 years younger than Guida, who is 42. This age is, as you might expect, the widest in modern UFC history.

As for the form of the pair ahead of the clash, Guida has lost his last two fights while Hooper has won three in a row and is currently riding the wave of his longest UFC win streak.
