Conor McGregor confirms historic UFC return: “We’ll put on one hell of a show”

Update:

Conor McGregor is preparing to make his UFC comeback after more than four years away from the octagon, and he has chosen one of the most symbolic stages possible: the White House.

When is McGregor’s UFC return?

The 36-year-old confirmed that he will return to action in June 2026 as part of the celebrations for the United States’ 250th anniversary.

According to McGregor, the deal for the fight is already finalized, with no further negotiations pending. He described himself as being in constant contact with UFC president Dana White, stressing that their partnership has repeatedly delivered record-breaking events. He also highlighted the company’s new $7.7 billion broadcast agreement with Paramount, underlining the scale of the showcase.

Who will McGregor fight at the White House?

McGregor believes he needs a six-month training camp to be fully ready for the occasion, and with eight months until fight night, he intends to dedicate himself exclusively to preparation. He framed the build-up as an intense operation requiring isolation and focus, determined to correct mistakes from his last appearance against Dustin Poirier.

The opponent has not yet been officially announced, though indications point to Michael Chandler being in line to face him. Whatever the matchup, McGregor’s return at such a landmark venue ensures one of the most anticipated nights in UFC history.
