Conor McGregor slammed after fight footage emerges with youngsters

Wherever he goes, Conor McGregor inevitably finds himself at the center of attention. The Irishman has once again become the subject of controversy on social media after a video surfaced of him training at a gym in Naples, Italy. During sparring sessions with much younger fighters, he was seen striking a teenager with alarming force.

What happened with McGregor and the kids?

As usual, The Notorious drew heavy criticism. McGregor “pummeled” several youngsters in sparring, going full throttle regardless of weight or size. In one scene, he pinned a boy against the wall and unleashed a barrage of powerful punches while the teen tried desperately to cover up and fend them off. Online backlash was swift, with fans condemning how hard McGregor was going.

The 36-year-old is, however, preparing for a comeback. He has resumed anti-doping tests and has volunteered to headline the UFC event being organized by Dana White and Donald Trump at the White House on July 4, 2026, as part of the celebrations for the United States’ 250th Independence Day. The UFC president still believes in him, raising the possibility of a major return.

McGregor hasn’t competed in four years, since breaking his tibia in his third fight with Dustin Poirier. In the meantime, he has made headlines more for his legal troubles – including a rape allegation – than for his sporting achievements. He was scheduled for a big comeback in June last year, only to break his pinky toe just over a week before the fight. Since then, no new date has been set. Fans, growing weary of false starts, are finding it harder to get excited whenever The Notorious hints at fighting again.
