CrossFit Games 2022 Day 3: results and leaderboard
The 2022 CrossFit Games are in full swing, and Ricky Garard continues to lead the men’s division. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr is now number one among the women.
Day 3 of the 2022 CrossFit Games had the athletes a little worse for wear than they should have been because they had to compete on Day 2, which was scheduled to be their rest day. The postponement of an outdoor event on Day 1 due to rain had them running with heavy weights and doing jerks in record time on Thursday.
Having no time to recover from the first day of competition further gave the athletes the chance to prove who really is worthy of the title “Fittest on Earth”.
Ricky Garard has been able to maintain his position at the top of the men’s leaderboard, trailed by Justin Medeiros and Roman Khrennikov. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr was able to recover from what seemed to be a disastrous first day and grab the lead from Mallory O’Brien in the women’s division. O’Brien is a close second, while Emma Lawson is at third place.
There were three events held during the day, called The Capitol (featuring heavy pig flips, a run, and loaded carries), Up and Over (featuring muscle-ups, jump-overs, sit-ups, and weighted lunges), and the Echo Bike.
CrossFit Mayhem, heavy favorites to win the team contest, are now sitting at number one.
