The Czech Republic has won its seventh world championship title, marking its first victory since 2010. The Swedish team secured the bronze medal by defeating Canada 4-2 in the third-place battle.

The Czech Republic’s path to the title was challenging. Despite finishing third in the group stage, they faced a difficult task in the quarterfinals, where they secured a 1-0 victory over the USA. The semi-finals proved much easier as they defeated Sweden 7-3.

After extra time, Switzerland reached the final over Germany (3:1) and Canada (3:2). American Matt Boldy, with 14 goals, was the best scorer of the tournament, followed by Swiss Kevin Fiala and another American Brady Tkachuk, with 13 goals each.

In the team of the tournament, chosen by the journalist, there was a place for goalkeeper Lukas Dostal (Czech Republic), defenders Roman Josi (Switzerland) and Erik Karlsson (Sweden), and forwards Kevin Fiala (Switzerland), Dylan Cozens (Canada) and Roman Červenka (Czechia). Fiala also took home the MVP title.
