How long will Novak Djokovic rule the tennis world?
He is 36 years old and hasn’t been playing since mid-September. He played his last match less than 20 hours after the previous one which lasted three hours.
Novak Djokovic, who is 36 years old, hasn’t participated in any tournaments since the middle of September. Moreover, he played his last match less than 20 hours after the previous one, which lasted almost three hours. Also, he is up against the best young players in the world, who are 10-15 years younger than him.
When someone reads all these facts, they would easily assume that this man is bound to lose, as each of these reasons, individually, let alone when combined, is sufficient for his elimination.
However, everything changes when Novak Djokovic is referred to. He has turned the theory of tennis upside down, unlike anyone else.
Despite any records or numbers, Novak Djokovic has demonstrated time and time again through his actions that he is undoubtedly the greatest tennis player of all time. Although he may not be in his peak physical condition at the Bercy tournament, and his shots may not be entirely adjusted, his tennis skills far exceed those of his competitors. Even in this edition, which is not his best, he still manages to find a way to triumph.
However, this does not necessarily mean that he can win every match. In the upcoming Paris final against Grigor Dimitrov, for example, Dimitrov may take advantage of Djokovic’s mentioned handicaps. Nevertheless, Djokovic has already achieved his primary goal of coming to the French capital to prepare for the final Masters in Turin and the Davis Cup in Malaga.
If winning the record seventh trophy in Paris was his top priority, he would have played a preparatory tournament in Vienna or Basel. However, doing so would have put him at risk of coming to Turin and Malaga tired. Djokovic is also currently in Bercy without his head coach, Goran Ivanisevic, who is still recovering from knee surgery. Instead, he only has the inexperienced Charlie Gomez with him. Despite this, Djokovic still manages to win matches in photo finishes day after day, which highlights his superiority at the top of the world.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of Novak, the tennis world should prepare to see him dominate for a long time. His success is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and unmatched skills on the court.
