The 26-year-old will begin with a two-stroke lead over Patrick Cantlay and a three-stroke edge over Will Zalatoris, who withdrew from the BMW due to injury. Cantlay won the BMW Championship for the second straight season on Sunday, edging out Scott Stallings by one shot at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware.
Tour Championship format
The 30 golfers headed to the Tour Championship will start in an adjusted scoring format with Scheffler owning a lead on the entire field.
