It’s hard to believe Lexi Thompson could actually consider retiring. She is only 29 years old. That said the women’s golf superstar has been playing professionally since 2010 and won her first LPGA Tour event the following year. She has competed in the Solheim Cup six times for Team USA and represented the US in the Olympics in 2016 and 2021.

She has won 11 times on the LPGA Tour and has had 88 career top 10s. Her career has had some ups and downs, but she has consistently played at the highest level competing in most tour events with very few breaks and with the following annual earnings:

Lexi Thompson's earnings year-by-year on the LPGA Tour

  • 2011: $244,303
  • 2012: $611,021
  • 2013: $1.2 million
  • 2014: $946,764
  • 2015: $1.8 million
  • 2016: $888.571
  • 2017 $1.9 million
  • 2018: $1.2 million
  • 2019: $1.5 million
  • 2020: $404.237
  • 2021: $1.3 million
  • 2022: $1.9 million
  • 2023: $284,048

How much money has Lexi Thompson made on the LPGA Tour?

Over the past 14 years Thompson has made $14,054,983. That of course does not include her sponsorship deals and other off-course earnings.

The LPGA Tour, the Solheim Cup and especially all of her fans will miss Thompson after her retirement. As golf fans, we will have to enjoy watching her play while we can during her last season on tour.

“Lexi’s impact extends far beyond the golf course. She embodies the spirit and dedication of our founders,” LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said in a statement on Tuesday.
