Update:

Cameron Young finally picked up his first PGA Tour title at the Wyndham Championship, dominating the field at Sedgefield Country Club to win by six strokes.

After opening with rounds of 63, 62, and 65, Young carried a commanding lead into Sunday and closed with a 68 to finish on 22-under par.

Throughout the week he showcased his poise and precision, driving the ball with authority and putting with confidence. The win is a long-awaited milestone for Young, who had previously recorded multiple runner-up finishes but had yet to secure a victory.

With this performance, he not only captured his first title but also firmly cemented his status as one of the rising stars on the PGA Tour.

“I’m trying to just look at that to just take all the small stuff that happens day to day as it comes,” Young told reporters, when asked if he was hoping to make the Ryder Cup team. “But in the back of my mind, I’m trying to picture myself on that team.”

It is also a victory that comes with a substantial cash prize for the 28-year-old, who was PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2021.

Young will take home a $1.476 million top prize for his victory in Greensboro, North Carolina. In total the prize purse for the event was $8.2 million.
